Look what my new camera can do!

There are three lighthouses in the Provincetown area. When we were at the top of the Pilgrim Monument, we weren’t really able to see them with the naked eye, but I was able to use the zoom feature on my camera to find the shapes and then take photos, which aren’t great photos but came out better than I thought they would considering the distance.

This is the Long Point Light. It is 1.7 miles from the monument as the crow flies. During the tourist season you can take a ferry to this beach and lighthouse, otherwise it’s a 2.5 mile walk across the Breakwater walk from the Pilgrim’s First Landing Park.

This is the Wood End Light. It is 2.2 miles from the monument as the crow flies. The dark shadow that cuts diagonally in front of the lighthouse is the Breakwater Walk, which is one of the ways to walk out to see both this and the Long Point Light and it is considered a strenuous walk. This lighthouse is a 1.5 mile walk across the Breakwater walk from the Pilgrim’s First Landing Park.

This is the Race Point Light and the Keeper’s House. It is 3 miles from the monument as the crow flies. Here you can see the sand dunes and also Hatch’s Harbor, which is in front of the lighthouse. This lighthouse is a 1.75 mile walk from the Race Point Road parking lot.
